I’m a Mexican immigrant, born and raised in Mexicali, B.C. México and naturalized US citizen. I come from a family of schoolteachers. My parents taught me to respect authority, serve my community, and value integrity. California legislators continue to propose laws limiting our options as parents. What has been happening in my state during the last few years is dangerous and harmful to children, families, and people of faith. I refuse to sit down and do nothing.
For more than 20 years I have served the community teaching and supporting “at risk” children from schools throughout the Coachella Valley; as a preschool teacher for several private schools, and as a substitute for my local school district. Along with my family, we have volunteered at different nonprofit organizations, and have been able to connect with a variety of people, especially women victims of domestic violence. It has been an honor to minister to them and help them in the process of overcoming difficulties, recovering self-esteem, and strengthening personal values; that inspired me to craft a local grassroots organization in order to provide resources and tools to help individuals develop and accomplish personal and professional goals through education, seminars, self-help workshops, information, and empowerment.
Throughout the years, I’ve been advocating for children and families, using my platform as a radio host for different Christian stations, a column writer for La Prensa Hispana Bilingual Newspaper, a children’s pastor and women’s leader. Over the last year, I’ve been Educating parents about AB 329 and the harmful effects of Comprehensive Sexuality Education. As a former leader of Informed Parents of California, organized carpools and buses to Sacramento for rallies at the State Capitol and public testimony before the California Department of Education. Led a statewide SeXXX Ed sit-out successfully involving 49 counties. I currently serve as the executive director for Alliance To Protect Children, statewide grassroots organization advocating and defending the innocence of our children, and dedicated to inform, educate, and activate parents, community and taxpayers on issues that impact our children’s health, safety, and education.
I am not a career politician, I am a mother of 5 and an educator. I am taking a leap of faith because young generations deserve better than what we are leaving behind for them. When I’m elected, I will work hard to replace the destructive Bills undermining our God-given and Constitutional rights and to stop the exodus of good people leaving the state because of the extreme taxation. Right now businesses are fleeing the state and small businesses can't afford to do business anymore let alone hire any employees, and that needs to stop.
I firmly believe that together we can make a difference and bring California back to its days of glory.
